counter INTELLIGENCE

WE'VE ALL EXPERIENCED going to a beauty counter with every intention of buying ‘a’ lipstick only to walk away with the whole skincare range and a major dent in the credit card..
“Remember you don’t have to buy anything in any situation,” says celebrity hair and make-up artist Bobbi Brown. “If you’ve just had a make-over, it’s often better to say ‘Let me think about it,’ and walk away,” she suggests. “Try to go outside and look at yourself in natural light. If you decide you like what you see an hour later, go back and buy whatever products they used.”
“If you’re still undecided, another option is to ask for samples of products you aren’t quite ready to commit to. This is especially useful for skincare,” says Brown. “That way you can see how your skin reacts before you invest in a big bottle of cleanser or moisturiser.”
