ANOTHER GREAT BEAUTY TIP FROM ALLURE MAG... The amount of blush you apply is as important as the color itself. If you're fair, go with a slightly bluish pink and sweep it lightly on the skin. If you have medium or dark skin, try a reddish pink and apply it more liberally.

smudge BUSTER
THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN LOOKING IN THE MIRROR ONLY TO DISCOVER THAT YOUR MASCARA IS ALL SMUDGED under your eyes... To avoid this your best option is to use waterproof mascara which will stay put until you take it off with an oil-free emulsion. Another trick is to apply a little loose powder under you lower lashline with a cotton bud, this blots any oil which can mix with your mascara and make it smudge. Alternatively skip the mascara all together and get your beautician to tint your lashes.

good FOUNDATIONS
PERFECT YOUR SKIN WITH FOUNDATION
... yep it doesn't have to look like a mask. When applied properly it can actually make skin look brighter, more even, and more youthful. Here is how the pros do it:* Choose a liquid foundation — it's more moisturising and less likely to cake than a cream or powder-on.
* Test shades on your jawline, in natural light.
* Before applying, always use moisturiser (makeup blends more easily on moist skin).
* Use a makeup sponge. Use it dry if you want full coverage; damp (wet it and squeeze it) if you want a sheer result.

razor CHIC
TEXTURIZED, RAZORED HAIR IS THE LOOK OF THE MOMENT according to InStyle mag online... Here's their tips on getting the razored look like Gwynnie's... GET THE LOOK: If you want to add a little edge to your hairstyle without embracing a full-blown punk movement, check out Gwyneth Paltrow's razored edges. The trick to making it look chic, not straggly, is to keep hair neat and get your ends razored in a couple of places, not all over.INSIDER TRICK: This style works best on thick hair, which has enough body to spare once the edges are thinned. If you have fine or thinning hair, you can get a similar effect with soft layers.

prime TIME
“THE WAY TO ENSURE YOUR FOUNDATION LOOKS NATURAL is to always prime before applying foundation,” says David McConnell, CEO and Head Make-up artist for Gorgeous Cosmetics. “Primer creates a perfect, smooth “canvas” over which your foundation will glide. Primer prepares the skin and foundation to gives the finishing touch.”“Most importantly, when it comes to looking natural, the secret is ‘less is more’,” he says. “This principle will ring true if you’re using a good quality foundation. A good foundation will be high in colour pigment, which means that you don’t need to use much in order to get a good, even coverage.”

big EYES
LINING YOUR EYES IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE THEM LOOK BIGGER... but you don’t need to use black or charcoal, instead try a softer shade like brown or grey. Then the trick is to use a bone or white shadow at the brow bone (just below your eyebrows) to open up the whole eye area and make the eyes appear bigger. Finally apply black mascara, layering thin coats to give your eyelashes fullness – voila sexy eyes. PS. It also helps if you a well-shaped eyebrows.

volume BOOST
WHEN YOU'RE HAVING A LIMP HAIR DAY, switch your part to the opposite side for an instant lift. Also avoid centre parts as they make your hair lay even flatter to your head. If you’ve applied product to your hair in the morning, run damp hands through your hair to revitalise the products power and give your hair some oomph.

dirty HAIR
INSIDER HAIR TRICK... "Overly clean hair is the enemy of a good updo - Catherine Zeta-Jones told me this when I was preparing her for her wedding. I always tell brides or celebrities not to wash their hair the day of a big event. Any style will last much longer if their strands are a little dirty." - John Barrett, Celebrity HairstylistWednesday, February 4, 2009

sun SAFE
SOME QUICK TIPS TO PROTECT YOUR HAIR THIS SUMMER...* Always use products with a SPF protection to protect your hair and scalp when you’re at the beach - or better still, wear a hat.
* Hair needs to be treated more gently during the summer. Consider switching to a more moisturising shampoo and conditioner.
* Before you dive into the pool, soak your hair under the shower first to lessen the hair's absorption of chlorine.
* For sun exposed or sun damaged hair, apply a deep conditioner to damp hair, wrap in plastic wrap before bedtime. Leave on overnight for extra repair and re-moisturising benefits.
