metallic EYES
GREAT MUM-BEAUTY-MAKE-UP FROM COOKIE MAGAZINE (featuring Helena Christensen and her son)... Metallic eye shadow—like a splash of icy water and well-placed concealer—has the uncanny ability to make you look bright-eyed even when you're operating on four hours of sleep.1. Choose a shimmery (but not glittery) cream or powder shadow: Silver plays up fair to medium skin; gold and copper look best on darker skin. Spread it across the eyelids with a fingertip or a wide shadow brush, working it up no farther than the crease as shimmer on the entire eye area can look too roller disco.
2. Smooth a deep brown pencil along the upper lash line, blend it in with your finger, then add several coats of black mascara. Light reflects off metallic shades, so you need to add a little definition.
3. Finish with a sweep of peach blush and a slick of tinted lip balm to keep the focus totally on the eyes.

look YOUNGER TIP #12
BRING YOUTHFUL VOLUME BACK TO YOUR HAIR...
As you age, hair, like skin, gets thinner. Here are some tricks to bring the volume back:* Wash with a volumizing shampoo, then apply a lightweight conditioner to the ends only (conditioner on the crown is a recipe for limpness).
* Rub a bit of mousse into the roots to give volume and blow dry.
* Dry your hair in sections, wrapping the top sections around large Velcro rollers, pulling slightly toward the face. Let cool for at least ten minutes.
* The old upside-down move really works: Flip your head over, shake hair with fingers at the roots.

look YOUNGER TIP #11
DON'T PICK YOUR FACE... It’s hard to resist the urge to do a little at-home surgery on a pimple, but the mark it might leave is the most persuasive reason not to. As you age, acne scars often end up looking more like wrinkles. If you have a pimple on your cheek near where a wrinkle forms, it will make the wrinkle deeper.

draw the LINE
THERE ARE NO STRICT RULES FOR APPLYING EYELINER... it really depends on the occasion. Lining just the outer corners of your eyes gives you a wide-eyed look that’s perfect for the day – while rimming your whole eye adds intensity for more of an evening feel. Whatever look you’re going for, remember to thicken and smudge the line upward as you get to the most outer point of your eye to create a lifting effect. And apply the liner close to your lash roots to make your lashes look thicker.

kissable LIPS
THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN CHAPPED LIPS and as we're heading into the season for dry lips, here's some prevention and cure tips... Lips don’t produce sebum which seals in moisture so our natural response is to lick our lips but this only makes them drier - so resist the urge to lick. If you do have chapped lips, you need to exfoliate them so they can absorb moisture and begin to heal. A soft toothbrush will do the trick (gently massage in circles), then apply a lip treatment (or night cream) to re-moisturise and protect them. To avoid further drying out, stay away from matte or long-lasting lipsticks which are more drying than regular, creamy formulas.Wednesday, March 11, 2009
cheek HIGHLIGHTS
BLUSH AND HIGHLIGHTING POWDERS can give an otherwise tired face a subtle, radiant glow. To get this refreshed look, apply a cream or powder blush that's slightly darker than your skin tone just below your cheekbones. Then use a small blush brush to dust on highlighting powder (silver looks prettiest on fair skin; gold on olive or tan skin). Focus it on the high half of your cheek, following the bone. It also works when you take the shimmer up to your brow bone. (Imagine a V shape turned on its side.) Finish off your look with nude iridescent eye shadow, mascara, and peach lip gloss.

bella REECE

REECE WITHERSPOON LOOKS GORGEOUS IN THE APRIL ISSUE ON ELLE MAGAZINE... Here's what she had to say to the mag about being a young mother: “When I first had Ava, I couldn’t afford [help]. And it was so hard. I was out in Los Angeles, living [away from my family]. I really didn’t have any friends. And I had a baby. No one else who was 22 had a baby. I couldn’t go out.” To see more of the interview click here!

skinny on BROWS

YOU ALWAYS READ THAT SKINNY EYEBROWS ARE A BAD LOOK! I disagree... that's why I loved this when I read it on www.Instylemag.com...
Skinny Eyebrows
GET THE LOOK: Eyebrows are like jeans: sometimes a fuller style works best and sometimes a skinny look is most flattering. As Charlize Theron shows, a trim line works beautifully on her face. If her eyes were larger, however, she'd want thicker, more proportional brows.
INSIDER TRICK: Thin brows require extra-careful enhancement; otherwise, your handiwork may look too obvious. Instead of filling them in with powder or pencil, try a pigmented brow glaze, which swipes on with a mascara-like brush and defines and sets brows in place.

love those LASHES
I HAD THE MOST AMAZING BEAUTY TREATMENT YESTERDAY...
eyelash extensions!
They are amazing - they're like your own lashes with mascara on but only better! I went to Love Those Lashes individually grafted extensions to my eyelashes using tweezers, a very steady hand and a specially formulated glue. You can choose acrylic or silk lashes, which come in varying lengths and shapes to create either a natural or dramatic effect. They last about 3 - 5 weeks. The initial procedure takes 1 hour and costs $150. Refills take 30 – 60 minutes and are recommended every 3 weeks ranging from $50 - $120.
To find out more visit www.lovethoselashes.com.au or call 1300 LASHES. Be careful though, you may become addicted!
